Hi,

I’m Delaney :)

Recently graduated from Elon University’s School of Communications with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema and Television and my Bachelor of Arts in Drama Theatre Studies, I am a Washington D.C. based writer/actor/filmmaker looking to tell compelling narratives.  I have always loved to write and tell stories, that much has always been clear. From writing novels on my middle school issued Chromebook to crafting a play about Blockbuster Video because I simply missed it so much, storytelling was my chosen form of expression. My name, Delaney, in Gaelic means ‘dark challenger’ and in Irish, it means ‘darkly defiant child,’ and while I would not describe myself as a particularly dark person, I am definitely one to challenge ideas and perhaps defy a convention every now and again. The meaning of my name and its reflection in who I am is something that my late Irish grandmother would describe as fated. Of course, as a challenger of conventions, I would be destined to pursue a more experimental career, a life in the creative, as a writer, storyteller, singer and actor.

I have been involved in the entertainment industry since childhood, working as an actor in commercials, public service announcements, and musicals. More recently I  have also begun to work behind the scenes, serving as a production intern at Eleven Three Productions in Los Angeles (summer 2022), and acting in roles such as script supervisor and producer on student written/directed projects. Also at Elon University, I served as Casting Director for several student short films and throughout 2023-2024 I wrote, directed, and produced a proof-of-concept short film for my feature length screenplay as a part of my senior thesis.

Additionally, I worked as a Campus Tour Guide at Elon University where I used my communication and interpersonal skills to give prospective families the best possible experience when visiting campus. I absolutely love connecting and talking with new people, and trying new things. In fact, I even took a clown class this past summer (yes, red nose and all). I am proficient in all major types of social media, can read music at an advanced level and was a member of the Children’s Chorus of Washington for 7 years as a soprano 1, performing at venues such as Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Smithsonian, and National Cathedral.

Most recently I completed my classical acting residency at Oxford University with the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford intensive.

I have a passion for the creative and am a dreamer with the goals of working not only as a performer myself, but also in the areas of casting, development, film/tv production, public relations, journalism, and writing.

I look forward to connecting!
